We gathered at the left edge of the picture. This is Cherry Creek, and Eric used to run through the park. He lived about a block or two from here:

Of all the shots I took, this one has the most emotional impact. A bunch of guys (none of which are noted for expressing strong feelings) gathered around to say good-bye to a friend. He died doing what he loved to do and lived as it suited him. His legacy is in the people who he touched. This is Denver in early spring, and a thousand feet higher there is snow still. This is as green as it gets, which looks like near-drought where I am from. Green among an otherwise stark landscape. It felt like some shot out of a western movie:
